Christmas Bow Cake Hack (Using Nerds Rope)
This Christmas Bow Cake Hack transforms a plain store-bought white cake into a festive holiday centerpiece topped with an oversized Nerds Rope bow. It’s quick, adorable, and completely foolproof — no baking required.

Ingredients
- 1 store-bought white cake 8–9” OR Two 8" store-bought white cakes (to stack and elevate the height)
- 4 Nerds Ropes 2 for loops, 2 for ribbon tails
- ½ –1 cup white buttercream optional for smoothing the cake
- Christmas sprinkles optional
- Toothpicks optional for securing the bow
Instructions
- Chill the cake for 20–30 minutes so the frosting firms up.
- Gently remove any decorative icing or piping from the top and sides.
- If stacking cakes, add a thin layer of buttercream between the two for stability and height.
- Use extra buttercream to smooth the sides and top for a clean “blank canvas.”
- Form two Nerds Rope loops and pinch them together in the center to make the bow.
- Cut another Nerds Rope in half to create two ribbon tails.
- Attach the tails under the loops using a bit of icing or a toothpick.
- Place the completed bow on top of the cake.
- Add sprinkles or glitter for extra holiday magic.
- Display on a cake stand and serve.
Notes
Add the Nerds Rope bow right before serving so it stays firm and glossy.
