Servings 20 cherries

Ingredients

  • 1 jar maraschino cherries stems attached
  • ½ –1 cup whiskey or bourbon, rum, or cherry brandy, enough to cover
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • Festive holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  • Drain maraschino cherries and gently pat dry with paper towels until no moisture remains.
  • Place cherries in a small bowl and pour whiskey over top until fully submerged.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 1–24 hours to infuse with flavor.
  • Drain cherries again and pat very well until completely dry to help the chocolate stick.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt dark chocolate in 20–30 second increments, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  • Hold each cherry by the stem and dip into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off.
  • Immediately add sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  • Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate 15–20 minutes, or until chocolate is firm. Enjoy chilled!

Notes

For a stronger boozy flavor, soak cherries overnight.
Double dip in chocolate for a thick, gourmet shell.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 5 days.
Not for children — alcohol does not cook out.
