Servings 4 cruffins

Ingredients

  • 1 can 8 oz crescent roll dough (or 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 –3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning optional
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and generously grease a standard muffin tin.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and Italian seasoning if using.
  • Unroll the crescent dough into a rectangle and gently press seams together. If using puff pastry, roll lightly to smooth edges.
  • Brush the dough evenly with the garlic butter mixture. Reserve 1 tablespoon for brushing on top of the cruffins.
  • Sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly over the entire surface.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log from the long side.
  • Using a sharp knife, slice the log lengthwise down the center to expose the layers.
  • With the cut sides facing up, twist each strip into a loose spiral.
  • Place each spiral into the prepared muffin tin.
  • Brush with remaining melted garlic butter
  • Bake for 17–22 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  • Brush with additional garlic butter if desired and garnish with extra parmesan and parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

Puff pastry creates extra flaky, bakery-style layers, while crescent dough is quicker and softer.
For extra cheesiness, add a small sprinkle of mozzarella between the layers.
Don’t twist too tightly — looser spirals allow the layers to puff beautifully.
