Leaves of Change Cocktail – A Layered Fall Drink with Empress Gin

This Leaves of Change Cocktail is the ultimate show-stopping fall drink — layered with Empress Gin, pear juice, maple syrup, and lemon for a cozy yet refreshing cocktail that looks as stunning as it tastes. The flavors of fall come together in each sip — crisp pear, warm maple, and bright citrus — while the indigo gin floats beautifully on top, creating an ombré effect that’s pure magic. Perfect for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or any fall gathering.

Ingredients

  • oz Empress 1908 Gin
  • 2 oz pear juice chilled
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz pure maple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional garnish: pear slice rosemary sprig, or cinnamon stick

Instructions

  • In a shaker or measuring cup, combine pear juice, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Stir gently to mix.
  • Fill a clear glass with ice cubes and pour the pear-maple base mixture over the ice.
  • Slowly pour Empress Gin over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.
  • Garnish with a pear slice, rosemary sprig, or cinnamon stick for a cozy fall touch.
  • Serve immediately and watch the colors softly swirl as you sip.

Notes

Make Ahead: Mix the pear, lemon, and maple syrup base up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate. Shake or stir before using.
Mocktail Option: Replace Empress Gin with butterfly pea flower tea for a nonalcoholic layered version.
Sparkling Twist: Add a splash of prosecco or sparkling water for bubbles.
Flavor Variation: Try it with apple cider instead of pear juice for a sweeter, classic fall spin.
Serving Tip: Use chilled ingredients for sharp color layers and serve in a clear glass to highlight the ombré effect.
