Puff Pastry Easter Nests

These puff pastry Easter nests are made with two layers of flaky pastry and a rich chocolate filling, then baked until golden and topped with mini eggs. This easy Easter dessert is ready in under 30 minutes and perfect for brunch, parties, or a fun baking activity with kids.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • ½ –¾ cup chocolate spread like Nutella
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water for egg wash
  • ¼ cup melted chocolate or frosting for topping
  • Mini chocolate eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
  • Spread chocolate evenly over one sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Layer the pastry by placing the second sheet directly on top, gently pressing to seal.
  • Cut into strips about ¾–1 inch wide.
  • Twist each strip several times, then coil into a nest shape and tuck the ends underneath.
  • Make egg wash by whisking together the egg and water, then brush over each nest.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  • Cool slightly, then spoon a little melted chocolate into the center of each nest.
  • Add mini eggs on top and let set before serving.
