Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package directions. Prepare both white cake mixes as directed on the boxes.
Divide the cake batter evenly between two mixing bowls. Tint one bowl red and the other blue using food coloring, stirring until the colors are vibrant and evenly distributed.
Pour the red batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and the blue batter into a second greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bake according to the package instructions until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow both cakes to cool completely. For the cleanest cake circles, place the cooled cakes in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes before assembling.
While the cakes cool, prepare the frosting. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar, Lifeway Kefir, and vanilla extract. Continue mixing until the frosting is light, fluffy, and easy to pipe. If needed, add a little more powdered sugar to thicken the frosting.
To assemble the patriotic push pops, firmly press a push pop container straight down into the red cake. Gently twist as you press to create a clean cake circle.
Remove the cake-filled container and use the plunger to carefully push the red cake layer to the bottom of the push pop.
Pipe or spoon a layer of frosting over the red cake layer.
Repeat the process with the blue cake, pressing the push pop container into the cake and twisting gently. Place the blue cake layer directly on top of the frosting.
Add another generous layer of frosting to the top of each push pop.
Dip the frosted tops into red, white, and blue sprinkles, coating the frosting completely for a festive patriotic finish.
Repeat the process with the remaining cake and frosting until all push pops are assembled.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy chilled for the best texture and flavor.
