Prep Time 5 minutes minutes
Cook Time 6 hours hours

1 medium seedless watermelon cut into bite-sized cubes 1 –2 cups tequila enough to fully coat watermelon 1 –2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning to taste 1 –2 fresh lemons or limes cut into wedges (for squeezing) Wooden skewers
Add the cubed watermelon to a large bowl or airtight container, making sure the pieces are evenly sized for consistent soaking.
Pour the tequila over the watermelon until all pieces are fully coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, but ideally 12–24 hours for maximum flavor infusion.
Once soaked, drain the watermelon well to remove excess liquid.
Thread 3–5 watermelon cubes onto each skewer.
Arrange skewers on a serving platter.
Sprinkle generously with Tajín seasoning.
Finish with a fresh squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving.
For stronger flavor - Let the watermelon soak closer to 24 hours for a more noticeable tequila infusion.
Do not oversoak - Avoid soaking longer than 24 hours, as the watermelon can become too soft.
Use lime for classic margarita flavor - While lemon works, lime gives a more traditional taste.
Add Tajín right before serving - This keeps the seasoning bold and prevents it from dissolving.
Serve chilled - These skewers taste best cold and refreshing straight from the fridge.
Use flavored tequila - Pineapple jalapeño tequila adds a sweet and spicy twist that elevates the entire recipe.
