This easy Puff Pastry Spider is a perfect Halloween treat!  You can also swap the Nutella for pizza sauce and cheese for a savory snack.

Ingredients

Scale

    • 2 puff pastry sheets

    • Nutella

    • Egg wash

    • Candy eyes

Instructions

    • Lay out one piece of puff pastry on a greased baking sheet or on parchment paper.

    • Cover puff pastry with Nutella, leaving about a half-inch border uncovered.

    • Lay the second piece of puff pastry on top of the Nutella.

    • Place a small bowl on top of the puff pastry and cut four diagonal pieces from the bowl to the corners of the puff pastry. Pull up the middle pieces and set aside, leaving two triangular pieces next to the center of the bowl. (You can also cover with Nutella and bake the leftover pieces! Pro Tip: Use cookie cutters to cut the scraps into Halloween shapes for cute little accents!)

    • Cut four strips in the middle of the triangle, then twist.

    • Brush on the egg wash over the spider and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

    • Once cooled, carefully add googly eyes and enjoy!

Notes

You can also swap out the Nutella for pizza/marinara sauce and Mozzarella cheese for a savory snack!
