Notes
Storage:
Store leftover dip in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap or foil in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, or rewarm in a 350° oven until heated through.
We don't recommend freezing this dip, as the texture can change once frozen and thawed. Enjoy this fresh!
Assemble the dip up to a day or two in advance, then store in the fridge until you're ready to bake and serve.
Tips:
Use Room-Temperature Cream Cheese: Let it soften and come to room temperature so it's easy to work with. This will ensure you have a smooth, lump-free dip base.
Reserve Some Bacon and Cheese: Remember to save a little extra bacon and shredded cheese to sprinkle on top before baking.
Serve with Sturdy Dippers: You want something hearty that can hold the dip. Kettle potato chips, crackers, pretzels, pita chips, fresh veggies or even waffle fries are all great options.
Assemble Ahead of Time: Make the dip in advance then refrigerate until you're ready to bake and serve.
Always use full-fat cottage cheese, sour cream, and cream cheese for best taste and texture. While buying a lower-fat version works, it won't be quite as delicious.
