This simple Easter Dirt Cake is so bright and cheerful and makes for a mouth-watering dessert that is such a hit for both kids and adults!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies (15.5 oz), crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 boxes 3.4 oz each instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 12 oz Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 cup Easter M&M’s
  • 20 PEEP marshmallows

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk with instant chocolate pudding until smooth.
  • Pour pudding mix into cream cheese mixture. Beat until combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • Fold in Cool Whip.
  • Prepare in a 9×13 dish by pressing half the crush Oreos on bottom, followed by the pudding filling, and then topped with the remaining Oreos.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set. When ready to serve, sprinkle top of cake with Easter M&M’s candy and Peeps!

Notes

Here are some fun substitutions that you could also try for your Easter Dirt Cake:

Coconut Grass: Another fun idea is to mix green food coloring with 2-3 cups of shredded coconut to make “grass” for the bunnies to be in a field!

Different Toppings: You could also substitute the bunny peeps with chick peeps, or swap out the Easter M and M’s for mini marshmallows or your other favorite candies.
