This simple sangria is the perfect way to spice up a holiday gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1 cup Fireball Whiskey (you can also use brandy)
  • 1 bottle sparkling chilled apple cider
  • 1/4 cup sugar (you can swap with Stevia or other lower-calorie sugar substitute)
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 apples-Cube one apple and cut the other into thin slices for optional garnish.
  • 2 cups cranberries
  • 5 cinnamon sticks (can also be used for garnish)
  • 6 sprigs rosemary (can also be used for garnish)

Instructions

  • Combine wine, Fireball whiskey, apples, cranberries, oranges, sugar, cinnamon and rosemary in a large pitcher (all ingredients except for the sparkling apple cider.)
  • Mix well and cover with Saran Wrap or aluminum foil. Place in refrigerator overnight for the flavors to blend.
  • Add the sparkling apple cider and stir when ready to serve.
  • Serve over ice in wine glasses and garnish as desired with cinnamon sticks and rosemary sprigs.

Notes

You can also rim your wine glasses with melted chocolate, sprinkles, cinnamon, or sugar for extra flair:

Option 1: Melt one cup of white melting chocolate in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds. Pour crushed sprinkles (I like to use white, silver, or gold) in a separate bowl. Once the chocolate is liquid, dip the rim of the wine glass in the melted chocolate and immediately dip it in the crushed sprinkles.

Option 2: Use maple syrup or honey instead of melting chocolate. Place your preferred choice in a bowl and dip the rim of the glass in the bowl. Mix equal parts cinnamon and sugar in another bowl. Dip the glass with honey or syrup into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Add ice and carefully pour the sangria in the top of the glass.

Option 3: Use a cookie cutter to make fun shapes out of the apples! I used a snowflake cutter, but you can use a Christmas tree, star, etc.
