I always tuck in a handwritten note on a Vanity Fair® Everyday Napkin—they’re soft, strong, and the perfect size to add a little extra love 💌 These everyday napkins are my go-to because they hold up to kid messes and sweet messages—perfect for busy moms who still want to add that special touch 🫶✨

  • Preferred Sandwich toppings, such as turkey and cheese or PB & J

Directions

  1. Trim the crust off both slices of bread.
  2. Flatten both slices of bread with a rolling pin.
  3. Cut one of the slices of bread into thirds vertically. Leave the other piece intact for now.
  4. For the slice cut into thirds: On each piece, add two “eyes” using the smaller hole of an icing bag tip. Using a spoon, gently create the mouth in a smiley face.
  5. For the intact slice: add any sandwich toppings, preferred meat/cheese, etc.
  6. Layer the 3 smiley pieces back on top of the intact piece with sandwich toppings.
  7. Cut the rest of the sandwich into thirds at the “seams” created by the previously cut slice of bread, so you have 3 smiley slices with sandwich toppings. Enjoy!

Can I Prep These Smiley Face Sandwiches in Advance?

Yes! I almost always make my kids’ lunches at least one or two days in advance. Just store in a Tupperware container or Ziploc bag and refrigerate. (We wouldn’t recommend prepping more than 3 days in advance so the bread can stay fresh.)

Storing Leftovers

If you have any leftovers, store in a Ziploc bag or Tupperware container and refrigerate. These should stay fresh for 1-2 days.
