I’m Leanna. This blog was born out of the chaos of mommin’ hard all day everyday while tackling little projects along the way! I hope you can find some easy DIY inspiration, family friendly recipes, and some other fun things to make your day while you are here.

This Patriotic S’mores Board is the perfect treat for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and more! I especially love how the mini tabletop fire pit is an easy way to toast marshmallows with littles without needing an actual fire.
What I love about food boards is that you can incorporate entirely store-bought treats, homemade goodies, or a mix of both. It’s also up to you if you’d like it to have more fruit, sweets, or savory options.
It’s completely up to you, but I’d definitely recommend some red, white, and blue treats. Here’s what I used:
When you’re in a time crunch, these food boards can come together in about 10 minutes. 🙂
There is no right or wrong way to add food to your board, but here are a few tips I like to follow:
You can scale this Patriotic S’mores Board to whichever size you need! Whether you’re feeding a large group or a small get-together, you can select the board size and amount of ingredients that work for you.
Mini Tabletop Firepit: I’d also recommend the Tabletop Firepit for an indoor or safer option for kiddos, but you can definitely make a fun board without it as well.
Rectangular Trays: If you’d like a rectangular wooden tray, this wooden version from Target is great, as well as this beautiful choice from Etsy.
Round Trays: If you’d prefer a round tray, I’d recommend this round wooden Target tray, which I get so much use out of year-round! For a higher-end round tray, I love my MacKenzie-Childs checkered party tray. If you’d prefer some glitz, you could also go with this Gold Metal Party Tray from Walmart at a great price!
Star Dish: For a star dish similar to mine, I love this red star version from Michaels! (Just be sure to check the dimensions to ensure they don’t overpower your serving board.)
Patriotic Plates: Target has these adorable blue gingham plates, which also coordinate perfectly with these blue plaid plates. Also, how cute are these star paper napkins?
Festive Lights: For an extra festive touch, surround your serving dish with these patriotic lights, these star twinkle lights or these American flag lights!
Kitchen Links: I get asked all the time about the products in the background of my kitchen. Much of it is from MacKenzie-Childs, which I have slowly grown a collection of over the years! My favorites are this checkered chopping board, my black and white checkered teapot, and the gray and white checkered utensil holder. I also have this enamel canister that you can find in small, medium, or large.
Absolutely! Just be sure to cover so it stays fresh and store in the fridge if you are using perishable items. I’d also recommend waiting to unwrap any chocolates until closer to serving time so they don’t melt.
One of my favorite tips is to hold onto any packaging so you can simply put them back easily, or you can store leftovers in Ziploc bags or Tupperware containers.
I hope this S’mores board is a simple and low-stress way to add a festive touch to your day! Also, thank you so much for any military members and their families who have served our country. We appreciate you very much!
