How to Make an Enchanting Donut Hole Witch Hat!
Create a spooky sweet treat with a bit of DIY magic to make this Donut Hole Witch Hat! 🎃🍩✨ Perfectly sweet and magically fun for this Halloween season. 🧙♀️ This idea is just like the donut hole Christmas trees that y’all loved last year!

Ingredients and Supplies
- Foam cone
- Foam circle (for the brim)
- Toothpicks or a long wooden dowel
- Chocolate donut holes (this depends on the size of your cone and base. I would recommend always buying more than you think you need. I used approximately five dozen.)
- Sweet tart rope (you can also use Fruit by the Foot!)
- Plastic wrap
- Hot glue gun (optional, for added stability)

Directions
- Wrap Foam: Wrap the foam cone and circle with plastic wrap or aluminum foil.
- Attach Brim: Place the cone upright on the circle. Secure with toothpicks or a long wooden dowel through the base of the cone and into the foam circle.
- Add Donut Holes: Stick chocolate donut holes around the cone, using toothpicks to secure them through the holes and into the foam (through the plastic wrap). Continue in a spiral pattern until the cone is covered.
- Make and Attach Bow: use 2 SweetTart ropes to create loops for a bow and secure with toothpick. You can also use a Fruit by the Foot!
- Finish: Adjust any loose pieces. Your witch hat is ready to display!

Here’s a Quick Video Tutorial!
Perfect Presentation Platters
This Donut Hole Witch Hat could go on so many things, from a cake stand to a wooden serving board. I used a MacKenzie-Childs floral-checkered cake stand, which also comes in a blue or black checkered pattern as well.
More Cake Stands: For a classic option you could use year-round, I love this White Beaded Cake Stand. For a great option with a lid, this wood and metal option is a staple in my kitchen (that you can see in the background of the photo!) 🙂 For a Halloween-themed cake stand, Anthropologie has this adorably creepy Spider Leg option.

Halloween Serving Platters: For some other fun Halloween serving boards, you may love this cute Jack-O’-Lantern platter or this Stoneware Ghost Platter (both from Pottery Barn), as well as this Marble Ghost Cheese Board (for a smaller version) from World Market. I also use this spooky coffin-shaped platter and wooden pumpkin cheese board all the time!
Halloween Kitchen Links: You can find my favorite Haunted House Cookie Jar at Pottery Barn! I also love these elegant MacKenzie-Childs Striped Pumpkins set or her Boo Pumpkins Set, which is a bit less expensive. I’m also obsessed with the Cauldron with Witch Boots!
Can I Prep This Donut Hole Witch Hat in Advance?
Yes! You can definitely assemble the foam cone and ring as a base well in advance. I suggest waiting until a few hours before serving time before adding the donuts so they stay fresh.

Storing Leftovers
If you have any leftovers from your Donut Hole Witch Hat, I recommend removing them from the toothpicks and storing them in Ziploc Bags. You can keep them at room temp, where they should stay fresh for 2-3 days.

Happy Halloween!
