We Love This Pretty and Patriotic DIY Berry Shortcake Bar
I set up the ultimate DIY Berry Shortcake Bar with angel food cake, fresh berries, whipped cream, and all the sprinkles. Berry sweet, totally festive, and made for the 4th! 🍓

And for the mess? I only use @vanityfairnapkins Extra Absorbent napkins—they’re soft, sturdy, and actually handle the whipped cream and berry drips without falling apart. Pretty and practical? Yes, please.

Perfect Presentation Platters
I linked lots of what you see in my DIY Berry Shortcake Bar here on my Amazon storefront, including adorable paper products. You may also be interested in:
Rectangular Trays: If you’d like a rectangular wooden tray, this wooden version from Target is great, as well as this beautiful choice from Etsy. Walmart has a beautiful smaller version with handles! Finally, Amazon has this gorgeous charcuterie board (with a knife set!) as well as this acacia rectangular serving board.
Festive Lights: For an extra festive touch, surround your serving dish with these star twinkle lights or these American flag lights!

Kitchen Links: I get asked all the time about the products in the background of my kitchen. Much of it is from MacKenzie-Childs, which I have slowly grown a collection of over the years! My favorites are this checkered chopping board, my black and white checkered teapot, and the gray and white checkered utensil holder. I also have this enamel canister that you can find in small, medium, or large.
Can I Prep This DIY Berry Shortcake Bar in Advance?
Yes! You can wash and cut the fruit and store in the refrigerator up to two days ahead of serving. We recommend storing in Tupper Ware or Ziploc Bags so they stay fresh.

Storing Leftovers
Transfer any leftover fruit from your DIY Shortcake Berry Bar into Ziploc Bags or Tupperware containers, where they should stay fresh for several days. The Angel Food Cake can be stored in a Ziploc Bag at room-temp for about three days. Cool Whip can be transferred back to its original container and refrigerated.
