How to Make an Easter Chocolate Espresso Martini

Sharing is caring!

These fun Easter Chocolate Espresso Martinis are such a cute twist on a Spring cocktail! So much of Easter celebrations are geared towards kids, so it’s fun to make a special treat for us adults to enjoy, too!

The best part about this festive treat is that it looks very creative but is super low-effort and only needs a handful of supplies!

Ingredients

Feel free to substitute these suggestions for your favorite alcohol, such as Vanilla-flavored vodka or any other preferences for your Easter Chocolate Espresso Martinis. (Each measurement will make one cocktail.)

  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur, such as Kahlua
  • 1 shot espresso
  • 1 hollow chocolate easter bunny or egg
  • Optional: Easter Sprinkles, cute straws

Tip: Place a silicone cupcake holder or a small dish under the chocolates to help keep the liquid from leaking. Keeping the foil wrappers around the chocolates is also helpful!

Substitutions

If you’d prefer a non-alcoholic option or a fun treat for kids, try swapping the alcohol for:

  • Hot Chocolate
  • Chocolate Milk
  • Regular Milk

Sipping milk out of a chocolate bunny makes it way more fun!

Directions

  1. Place your knife blade on a hot surface such as an oven burner or a small flame and heat the knife just slightly. You can also stick the knife in a cup of hot water.
  2. Carefully cut the top of the ears off (or the top of the egg) and discard.
  3. Next, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds until the shaker feels ice cold. (If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, stir vigorously in a tall glass.)
  4. Strain into a measuring glass with a pouring lip, then carefully pour into the chocolate bunny.
  5. Serve with whip cream, a colorful straw and any festive sprinkles you have.

Tip: To keep the chocolates from melting longer – put them in the freezer for 30 min before filling.

Perfect Presentation Platters

An added perk of this recipe is that you don’t even need to have cocktail glasses! Here are some of my favorite trays and Easter accessories that you can serve with these Easter Chocolate Espresso Martinis:

Serving Trays: These chocolate cocktails would be so cute on a variety of trays. I love this circular gold tray from Walmart, this octagonal bronze tray from Target, this round gold hammered tray from World Market, or this faux marble white tray from Walmart.

Tip: For extra festive decorations around the tray, I love winding twinkle lights or a garland like this carrot garland or this Easter Egg garland for some added character.

Easter Serving Dishes: These bunny plates or these bunny plates are adorable, as well as this Easter Egg Stoneware platter (all from Target.) If you’re looking for a wooden bunny-shaped serving board, I love this wooden bunny serving platter from TJ Maxx or this cute option from Target.

Kitchen Links: I get asked all the time about the products in the background of my kitchen. Much of it is from MacKenzie-Childs, which I have slowly grown a collection of over the years! My favorites are this checkered chopping board, my black and white checkered teapot, and the gray and white checkered utensil holder. I also have this enamel canister that you can find in smallmedium, or large.

Can I Make These Ahead of Time?

Since it only takes a few minutes to mix the cocktail ingredients, I’d recommend not prepping these too far in advance. It’s also helpful to wait until closer to serving time before making so the liquid doesn’t leak out of the chocolate glasses.

Storing Leftover Chocolate Easter Espresso Martini

Don’t store leftover liquid overnight in the chocolates, as it’s possible for the liquid to leak and you won’t want to wake up to a mess! I’d recommend discarding any leftover Martinis and wrapping leftover chocolate in foil before storing in the refrigerator.

Safety disclaimer: Please enjoy these chocolates safely and be sure that any leftover boozy chocolates are out of reach from any unsuspecting kiddos. 🙂

Cute Chocolate Easter Cocktails

Cheers!

I hope that you enjoyed these fun Easter Chocolate Espresso Martinis as much as I did! Have a lovely day, sweet friends!

Xoxo,
