Supplies and Ingredients

I was recently at my local craft store when I came across a foam wreath in the floral section and had an idea! All you need is a foam wreath, such as these from Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, or Amazon, some Saran Wrap, toothpicks, Cream Puffs, and garnishes of your choice. (I used raspberries, cranberries, powdered sugar and a Fruit by the Foot to make the bow.)

  • 12-inch foam wreath (You can use a smaller or larger wreath depending on your group size)
  • Saran Wrap
  • Approximately 100 toothpicks
  • 3 boxes of Poppies Mini Cream Puffs (about 100 total Cream Puffs)
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Optional: raspberries, cranberries, and Fruit by the Foot for the bow

Substitutions

You can swap out the mini cream puffs for about 8 dozen donut holes (if you get the powdered sugar kind, then you can skip that step at the end!) If you don’t have a Fruit by the Foot for the bow, you can also create one by crisscrossing two Candy Canes.

Directions

This Cream Puff Wreath is super simple by following these steps:

  1. First, cover the foam wreath with Saran Wrap.
  2. Then used toothpicks to attach Cream Puffs. (You do not need to cook this kind; just thaw and serve.)
  3. Then, garnish with cranberries, raspberries, or pomegranates for a pop of color.
  4. Sprinkle entire wreath with Powdered Sugar. (Tip: use a shaker like this to sprinkle on the Powdered Sugar so it doesn’t come dumping out all at once.)
  5. As a finishing touch, tie a Fruit by the Foot into a bow and place on Cream Puff Wreath. (You can also crisscross two Candy Canes for the bow.)

Perfect Presentation Platters

The possibilities are endless! I used a round wooden serving board that also comes in a smaller size. You could also use this wooden serving tray or this cute option. Kirklands also has a similar style or this slightly different version!

You could also use a wreath-shaped tray or this unique choice that looks like marble.

Can I Make This Ahead of Time?

Yes! Just store in the fridge though because of the cream in the center of the cream puff. If you substitute with mini donut holes, cover with Saran Wrap and store at room temperature. This should say fresh 1-2 days ahead of time.

How to Store Leftovers

Store left-over Cream Puffs in a Ziploc bag or Tupperware container. Store cream puffs in the fridge, where they should stay fresh for 3-4 days.

Enjoy!

I always aim to create easy, fun recipes that can make entertaining less stressful and more enjoyable! I hope this Cream Puff wreath is a fun and easy dish to create (and also to eat!)

Happy Holidays!
