Ingredients and Supplies

There is a lot of flexibility here to add whatever you’d like for your Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board! You can fill in the letters with fruits, veggies, cheese, sweets, or any snacks. Here’s what I used:

  • Grapes
  • Kiwi
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Salami
  • Cheese
  • Crackers
  • Nuts
  • Chocolate-covered pretzels
  • Chocolate-covered almons
  • Cherry tomatoes, Mozzarella ball, and pickle spears
  • Flowers (for garnish)
  • M-O-M letters (you can find these at most craft stores such as Hobby Lobby and Michael’s, or on Amazon.)
  • Liner for the letters, such as parchment paper, wax paper, paper towels, or napkins

Directions

  1. Clean out the letters using a paper towel. You can line the letters with napkins or paper towels, or trace the letters onto wax paper or parchment paper, then cut out to line them.
  2. Start arranging the snacks: I always recommend starting with the largest items and finishing with the smallest items to fill in any bare areas in your Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board.
  3. Decorate with flowers or leaves.

Alternative Letters for Other Events

Here are some other ideas for the letters if you would like to make something like this for another holiday!

  • Father’s Day: DAD
  • Baby Shower: BABY
  • Wedding Shower/Bachelorette: I DO
  • Valentine’s Day: LOVE
  • Birthday: Person’s Name
  • Graduation: Year of graduation
  • Halloween: BOO
  • Thanksgiving: THANKS or GOBBLE
  • Christmas: JOLLY or MERRY
  • New Year’s Eve: NYE or numbers to create the year, such as 2023

Perfect Presentation Platters

The great thing about these letters is that you don’t require any serving platters, but here are some of my favorite side plates and accessories that would complement your display beautifully:

Serving Plates: These blue gingham plates from Target are adorable and would also mix and match well with this fresh plaid option. If you’d prefer a paper option, this vintage floral set from Amazon is a great deal, or you could go with this checkered option by MacKenzie Childs.

Large Serving Boards: If you’d like to place your letters on a large rectangular serving tray, this wooden version from Target is great, as well as this beautiful choice from Etsy. Just be sure t check the dimensions with your particular letter sizes to ensure they fit. 🙂

Kitchen Links: I get asked all the time about the products in the background of my kitchen. Much of it is from MacKenzie-Childs, which I have slowly grown a collection of over the years! My favorites are this checkered chopping board, my black and white checkered teapot, and the gray and white checkered utensil holder. I also have this enamel canister that you can find in smallmedium, or large.

Can I Prep This Ahead of Time?

Absolutely! You can create this Mother’s Day charcuterie board 1-2 days ahead of time. Just cover tightly with Saran Wrap and refrigerate if using any perishable items.

Storing Leftover Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board

If you have any leftovers, you can either place them back in their original packaging (such as a Strawberry container) or place them in a Tupper Ware container and refrigerate. You can also use Ziploc bags if you don’t have any containers on-hand!
