It’s so easy to put together an adorable Valentine’s Day dessert board for family and friends! I added chocolate fondue for mine but it’s definitely sweet enough without it, too. Here are my favorite products and tips for a tasty board that is sure to be a big hit.

Have you ever gone to the grocery store for ingredients only to find they are out of stock, or needed to throw together a dish for guests at the last minute? You definitely won’t have issues with a dessert board like this. 🙂 What I love about this Valentine’s Day dessert board is that it’s so flexible and versatile; you can add whatever you prefer or have on hand or see at the store for a low-stress dish that’s still such a crowd pleaser!

Tips for Your Valentine’s Day Dessert Board

There is no right or wrong way to set up your dessert board, but here are my favorite tips for a fun and festive tray!

  1. Cut strawberries into heart shapes. You can use a knife to cut an upside-down triangle shape from the top, or use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  2. Mix up the colors. I like to ensure there are pops of colors throughout the dessert board, so I arrange the treats in a way that the colors are balanced, such as putting the red strawberries between the tan and brown sweets.
  3. If you’re adding any dishes (like the heart-shaped sprinkle bowl or fondue pot), place those where you would like first as anchors, then arrange the treats around them.
  4. Place the larger treats on before the smaller treats. The M and M’s and Candy Hearts are great to fill in any holes once you’re close to finished!
  5. Don’t overthink it! This is how I did my board, but there are so many fun ways you could fill it in. Let yourself be creative and have fun!

If you use a fondue kit, simply follow those directions as well. Always be sure to supervise kiddos closely and test the fondue before they sample it to ensure it’s not too hot.

Perfect Presentation Platters

Fondue Pot: I love our ceramic fondue pot from Target! It’s easy to clean, a great quality, and our kids get so excited when we can use it!

Serving Trays: My round wooden Target tray is currently out of stock, but you could also use so many options for a Valentine’s Day dessert board that you can get use out of all year, such as this similar beaded wooden tray or this rectangular wooden tray from Walmart at a great price! If you’d prefer a marble look, this faux white marble tray is also a great option from Walmart!

I also love this gold hammered tray from World Market or this pretty gray oval-shaped soapstone tray from Target. For a higher-end choice and larger tray, I’d recommend my MacKenzie-Childs checkered party tray.

Valentine’s Day Plates: The individual serving plates are from Hobby Lobby! This heart-shaped pink platter is also a great find, as well as these pink scalloped dessert plates. (Both from Target.) Williams-Sonoma also has a beautiful watercolor heart platter and heart plates that would also be fun!

Storing Leftover Valentine’s Day Dessert Board Sweets

This will depend on the products you use, but my favorite tip is to hold onto all of the packaging. I like to just replace any leftovers right into the original bags, or you could cover the entire board with Saran Wrap. Store it in the refrigerator if you use any fresh products.
