Sharing is caring!

This twist on a classic recipe makes for a delicious and filling Sloppy Joe Casserole that’s a hit for the whole family!

Sloppy Joe Casserole

I’m always looking for easy recipes that I can add to my usual recipe rotation and come back to again and again. This Sloppy Joe Casserole is definitely one of those staples that I will be making in my house regularly because it’s fast, filling, and everyone in my family loves it (even kiddos who are picky eaters!)

Browned Meat, Cooked Pasta, and cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish and set it aside.
  2. Cook bowtie noodles per package directions.
  3. Using a 4–5-quart heavy bottomed stockpot, brown the ground beef and diced onion on medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease and return the browned ground beef and onions to the stock pot.
  4. Add the 2 cans of Manwich sauce, the cooked bowtie noodles and the shredded Velveeta. Stir the ingredients until well combined.
  5. Pour the Manwich casserole into the prepared 9×13 baking dish.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the 8 oz pkg shredded Colby-jack on top of the casserole.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes.

Note: If you don’t have a heavy bottomed stockpot, that’s okay! This version is just helpful because it helps the food from sticking to the bottom of the pot. You can definitely use a regular pot, pan, or Dutch oven.

Tip: Never drain excess grease directly down the drain, as it can cause costly plumbing damage. Rather, drain into a small container with a lid (I use a rinsed cream cheese container) and discard in the garbage.

Perfect Presentation Platters

Whether you’re throwing together dinner for the family between extra curriculars or entertaining, here are some of my favorite products you can use for this dish:

Dutch Ovens and Pans: Dutch Ovens are very convenient for cooking many types of dishes evenly. Walmart has cute Dutch ovens in black or red, and Amazon has an adorable pink one! I also love this white 5-quart Dutch oven from World Market, which also has a 7-quart option. For higher-end options, you could go with Le Creuset or Nordstrom.

If you’re looking for a high-quality set of pots and pans, this black and gold set from Walmart is beautiful!

Wooden Serving Board: I use wooden boards just about every day in my kitchen, from decor to cutting boards to serving platters! For this recipe, I used this circular wooden serving board from Target that I’d highly recommend. Some other favorites are this version from Pottery Barn, this option from Kirklands, or this raised trivet from Target.

Storing Leftover Sloppy Joe Casserole

Leftovers are just as tasty the next day! Store in a Tupperware container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days and reheat in the microwave for 30 second intervals.
