This is also such a fun activity to make with kids or for classroom Halloween parties! 🕸️✨
Materials
- 2 brown lunch bags
- 1 wooden dowel (I used a brown dowel, but you could also have fun and paint it purple, orange, black, or any Halloween color.) You can also substitute the wooden dowel for a pretzel stick!
- Halloween-themed ribbon
- Scissors
- Glue (optional)
Directions for Your Witch Broom Treat Bag
1. Prepare the Bags:
- Cut one brown lunch bag into strips almost to the bottom.
- Cut the second bag halfway into strips.
2. Assemble:
- Insert the smaller bag into the larger bag.
- The strips from the larger bag will form the broom’s bristles.
3. Secure:
- Slide the wooden dowel into the open end of the nested bags.
- Fold the top edges of the bags over the dowel and secure with Halloween ribbon. Tie or knot the ribbon tightly.
4. Final Touches:
- Adjust the ribbon and strips for a neat finish.
- Add treats if desired. Enjoy your whimsical Witch Tread Bag!

Perfect Presentation Pieces
These Halloween Treat Bags are cute enough without a special platter, but I also love these fun options!
Halloween Trays: For my favorite Halloween trays, I love this fun Pumpkin Tray from Amazon or this cute Jack-O’-Lantern platter is from Pottery Barn. For an adorable option on a budget, this Ghost platter from Walmart is so fun, as well as this Coffin Tray from Michael’s. Also, the beautiful Haunted House Candy Jar is from Pottery Barn!
Wooden Serving Trays: It is so convenient to use a wooden serving board for prep and to complete the look. For a larger choice, I love the double-handle on this option, or this rectangular tray. (Both at a great price!)
Kitchen Links: I get asked all the time about the products in the background of my kitchen. Much of it is from MacKenzie-Childs, which I have slowly grown a collection of over the years! My favorites are this checkered chopping board, my black and white checkered teapot, and the gray and white checkered utensil holder. I also have this enamel canister that you can find in small, medium, or large.
Happy Halloween!
