Chocolate Snowman with pretzel arms

A no-bake dessert that only needs a handful of ingredients sounds almost too good to be true! I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this recipe was to put together. It also makes a great gift for friends, teachers, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone else you’d like to give a sweet treat to!

Supplies Needed

You probably already have some of these in your cabinet! All you need is:

This will make about 8-10 snowmen, depending on the size of the chocolate pieces.

Ingredients Needed for Chocolate Snowman Bark

Substitutions:

If you’re in a pinch and can’t locate certain ingredients, I’ve got you covered!

  • Chocolate Chips: You can also use melting chocolate in any color instead of the chocolate chips. I bet blue melting chocolates would look like a beautiful winter scene for the background!
  • White Melting Chocolate: You can substitute with jumbo marshmallows instead.
  • Sprinkles or Nonpareils: Feel free to swap the small sprinkles with powdered sugar and the nonpareils with coconut flakes (I’d recommend trimming them a bit smaller.)
  • Edible Markers: You can also use a clean paint brush dipped in food coloring to draw the snowman embellishments if you don’t have edible markers.

Chocolate Mixture

Directions:

  1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. I stir after each 30-second interval until the chocolate chips are melted.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate mixture onto a baking pan or sheet lined with wax or parchment paper.
  3. Add three white melting chocolate circles for each snowman in sections around the chocolate.
  4. Add pretzel pieces for the arms and draw on face and buttons with edible markers.
  5. Sprinkle the surrounding areas with sprinkles and nonpareils.
  6. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden completely before breaking into individual pieces. You can also use a knife or cookie cutter for more precise sections.

Tip: You can add 1 tbsp shortening to the chocolate chips so the melted mixture spreads easier.

Can I Make This Ahead of Time?

Yes! The great thing about chocolate is that it lasts for quite a while. I’ve made these chocolate bark snowmen up to a week ahead of time! Just store in a Tupperware container or seal with Saran Wrap over a plate. (Same with storing leftovers!)

Perfect Presentation Platters

These chocolate bark snowmen would be adorable on any platter! Here are some of my favorites:

Christmas Platters: You can’t go wrong with this Christmas platter, this Merry and Bright plate, these plaid dessert plates, this Pioneer Woman tray, or these Christmas-tree shaped plates.

Stone and Marble Trays: I love this marble and gold serving tray, this agate stone tray, or this large MacKenzie-Childs party tray.

Wooden Paddle Boards: You could also do a classic wooden round serving platter, like this striped option from Kirklands, this classic light wooden version, or this choice from Williams-Sonoma.

Cake Stands: This dessert would also be adorable on a cake stand, such as this wooden one, this wood and metal option, or this marble and wood piece.

Happy Holidays!

I hope you loved this easy and fun recipe, and many thanks to the www.thedecoratedcookie.com for the inspiration! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
