Ice Cream Sundae Bar
We recently hosted an Ice Cream Sundae Bar for an end of summer party for our friends. The kids loved it and have not stopped talking about it. It does not matter the age or event, everyone loves ice cream!
Plus, creating your own ice cream sundae and adding all of your favorite toppings just makes for a great party. 🙂 You will love how fun and easy it is.
I got everything we needed to set up the Ice Cream bar from Walmart. Walmart always has everything you need to host an epic end of summer party!! I love that I can find everything from ice cream and toppings to serve ware all at Walmart.
I created a cute Ice Cream Bar printable that you can also use if you wish. Click HERE to download the free Ice Cream Bar Printable.
What do you put on an ice cream sundae bar:
The ideas are endless as you can add anything you like. You can make your ice cream sundae bar with all of your favorite ice cream and toppings. You can use store bought ice cream or try making your own! I used this Rise by Dash ice cream maker to make vanilla ice cream and it turned out better then any store bought version! You can make frozen yogurt, gelato and sorbet in it too!
I used this recipe to make vanilla ice cream and can’t wait to try more!
Several other flavors to add:
- Chocolate
- Strawberry
- Cookies & Cream
- Cookie Dough
- Mint Chocolate Chip
Now it’s time for the toppings!
This is the BEST part and everyone loves to choose their own toppings. It is so fun to set out a bunch of yummy toppings for everyone to choose from.
What are good toppings for an ice cream sundae bar?
We love:
- Hot Fudge
- Carmel Sauce
- Whipped Cream
- Maraschino Cherries
- Oreos
- Carmel Bits
- Mini Reese’s cup
- Brownie Bites
- Marshmallows
- Gummy Bears
You can add whatever you like! The more toppings the better!!
How to make an ice cream sundae bar:
Make a serving area with different ice cream flavors to choose from. Add the ice cream to a tub full to prevent the ice cream from melting. This galvanized tub is a great bucket to use to hold the ice and ice cream.
Next, add the toppings. We love to put out a bunch of toppings in small mason jars so everyone can have lots of options. It is so fun and everyone always loves the choices.
Use a combination of bowls and cones so everyone can choose their favorite. I used this acrylic ice cream cone holder which was not only adorable but also a great way to display different cone options.
It is that easy! Let everyone pick an ice cream flavor and add their favorite toppings. So fun and delicious!
