Easy Banana Mug Cake Recipe with 5 ingredients

Am I the only one that can never get through all the bananas before they get too ripe? I am always looking for easy and healthy recipes to use our ripe bananas so they don’t go to waste. This easy banana mug cake recipe was an instant hit in our house. I know this will be favorite recipe for years to come.

I found a version of this recipe on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. The banana mug cake free of egg and sugar and is perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Feel free to add protein powder or peanut butter to this recipe to add to your daily protein intake.

Note: I used an espresso mug to make this recipe but if you don’t have one you can make it in a regular size mug. Make sure to double the recipe if you do, and use 1 full ripe banana!

Ingredients to Make Banana Mug Cake Recipe

  • 1/2 Ripe Banana
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Oil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Topping of your choice; sprinkles, pecans raisins, chocolate chips are all great options

Directions

Mash 1/2 ripe banana with a fork In a small bowl

Add flour and oil and mix well

Add vanilla, baking powder and cinnamon to combine.

Transfer to an espresso mug and add your topping.

Microwave for 90 seconds.
