Easy Halloween Whipped Cream Toppers
These easy Halloween whipped cream toppers are the cutest way to dress up hot chocolate for spooky season! Made with whipped cream, Halloween marshmallows, and candy monster faces, these frozen whipped cream toppers are made in a silicone mold and can be kept in the freezer until you’re ready to add one to your favorite warm drink.
They’re such an easy Halloween hot chocolate idea for parties, movie nights, or a fun after-school treat for the kids. I made two different versions—one topped with Halloween-shaped marshmallows and another decorated with candy eyes and mouths to create the cutest little monster faces.
Once frozen, just pop a whipped cream topper out of the silicone mold and place it directly on a mug of hot chocolate. The frozen whipped cream slowly melts into the warm drink while the Halloween marshmallow or monster face floats on top. It’s such a simple way to make an everyday cup of hot chocolate feel extra special for Halloween!

How to Make Halloween Whipped Cream Toppers
Making frozen whipped cream toppers is incredibly simple. The most important part is giving them enough time to freeze completely before removing them from the silicone mold.
- Prepare the mold. Place your silicone semi-sphere mold on a small baking sheet or flat tray. This will make it much easier to move the mold into the freezer.
- Add the whipped cream. Fill each cavity of the silicone mold with whipped cream. Smooth the top slightly so the decorations have a flat surface to sit on.

- Add the Halloween marshmallows. For the marshmallow version, place one Halloween marshmallow on top of each whipped cream portion. Gently press it into the whipped cream so it stays in place.

- Make the monster faces. For the monster version, arrange candy eyes and mouths on top of the whipped cream to create funny Halloween monster faces.

- Freeze. Carefully transfer the mold to the freezer and freeze until the whipped cream is completely solid.
- Remove from the mold. Once frozen, gently push each whipped cream topper out of the silicone mold.
- Serve. Place a frozen Halloween whipped cream topper directly on top of hot chocolate, coffee, or your favorite warm fall drink.

Tips for Making Frozen Whipped Cream Toppers
- Use a silicone mold. Flexible silicone makes it much easier to pop the frozen whipped cream out without breaking it.
- Place the mold on a tray first. Silicone molds can be floppy, so putting yours on a small baking sheet before filling makes transferring it to the freezer much easier.
- Don’t overfill the molds. Leave a little room so your decorations can sit securely on top.
- Gently press in the decorations. You want the marshmallows or candies to stick to the whipped cream without disappearing into it.
- Freeze until completely firm. If the whipped cream is still soft, the toppers may lose their shape when removed.
- Serve straight from the freezer. There’s no need to thaw the toppers before adding them to a warm drink.
Halloween Whipped Cream Topper Variations
There are so many ways you can customize these depending on the Halloween candies you find.
- DIY Halloween marshmallows: Use regular marshmallows and edible food markers to draw your own Halloween characters. Make little ghosts, pumpkins, Jack-o’-lanterns, Frankenstein faces, or silly monsters, then place one on top of each whipped cream topper before freezing.
- Sprinkle toppers: Add orange, black, purple, or green Halloween sprinkles before freezing.
- Eyeball toppers: Cover the top with edible candy eyeballs for a spooky look.
- Pumpkin toppers: Use pumpkin-shaped marshmallows or candies.
What to Serve with Halloween Whipped Cream Toppers
These frozen whipped cream toppers are especially cute served with:
- Hot chocolate
- Coffee
- Candy Corn Hot Chocolate
- Warm fall drinks
- Halloween party drinks
- Kid-friendly Halloween beverages
You could also set up a Halloween hot chocolate bar and let everyone choose their own topper. Add bowls of mini marshmallows, Halloween sprinkles, chocolate chips, crushed cookies, and other fun toppings alongside the drinks.

Make Ahead and Storage
These Halloween whipped cream toppers are ideal for making ahead because they’re meant to stay frozen.
- To make ahead: Prepare the toppers and freeze them in the silicone mold until completely solid.
- To store: Once frozen, remove the toppers from the mold and transfer them to an airtight freezer-safe container.
- To prevent sticking: If you’re stacking several layers, place a piece of parchment or wax paper between each layer.
- To serve: Take out only as many as you need and place them directly onto your warm drinks. Keep the remaining toppers frozen.
