Baked Caesar Chicken (3 Ingredients)

This Baked Caesar Chicken is a 3 ingredient delicious, fresh, and flavorful meal that can be served on its own, over a salad, or in a wrap! It makes for the perfect meal prep recipe and will be loved by even the pickiest of eaters.

Anything Caesar is a winner in our house and this Baked Caesar Chicken is no exception. With just 3 ingredients (4 if you count the parsley), you can have this delicious main course ready to serve in less than 30 minutes.

We love to make this dish as a quick meal prep recipe on a Sunday to eat throughout the week in wraps, on salads, in quesadillas…the options are endless! The chicken is perfectly moist and seasoned every time. If you love a great chicken dish, our Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken and Chicken Alfredo Casserole are two other great choices.

Why You’ll Love this Recipe

  • 3 Ingredient Chicken. It’s really that easy and comes out moist and juicy every time.
  • Pounding the chicken breast makes it tender. This makes so moist and flavorful every time.
  • Versatile for meal prepping. Roast to enjoy for several days during the week. My kids love it in their lunch box, and my husband uses it for sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts: Be sure to buy breasts that are all the same size and on the smaller side for even cooking.
  • Creamy Caesar dressing: Store-bought is best, I like the Boathouse brand. You can also use light dressing if you prefer.
  • Parmesan cheese: Finely grated works best for flavor to give the ultimate cheesy bite!
  • Coarsely chopped parsley: Adds a pop of color, you can omit this if you would like as well.

How to Make Baked Caesar Chicken

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  2. Pound 4 boneless, skinless to an even 1/2-inch thickness.
  3. Pour 1 cup creamy Caesar dressing in a baking dish large enough to fit the chicken in a single layer. Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish, then flip them so that they are evenly coated with dressing.
  4. Bake until the chicken is golden-brown and cooked through (about 20 to 25 minutes.)
  5. Heat the broiler to high. Remove the baking dish from the oven. Sprinkle the Parmesan over the chicken in an even layer.
  6. Broil until the cheese is melted and lightly browned, 3 to 4 minutes. If you don’t have a broiler don’t worry, you can just bake until cheese is melted!

Expert Tips

  • If you like chicken thighs, you can easily swap them for the breasts. Be sure to buy boneless, skinless chicken thighs. You don’t need to pound them since hey are already thin. Check the temperature of the meat after 20 minutes of cooking. If they are 165ºF on a meat thermometer, then they’re done!
  • Pound the chicken to an even thickness. This helps to tenderize the meat to make it moist and not tough after baking. I like to pound mine to be between 1/2 to 3/4-inch in thickness.
  • When it comes to the dressing, make sure it’s creamy Caesar. You can use regular or light if you desire. This is key since the dressing is both the seasoning as well as the fat to help keep the chicken juicy and moist while cooking.
  • Broiling the chicken at the end is the key to a golden brown crust. This is a crucial step, it adds a nice golden color and also allows the cheese to melt, making it the perfect texture with every bite.

What to Serve with Caesar Chicken

The options are endless! Top a salad, shred for a sandwich, even toss into pasta. Here are some of our favorites:

Storage

Place any leftover Chicken Caesar Bake in a zip top bag or airtight container and keep in the fridge, where it should stay fresh for 2 to 3 days. This is also delicious over a salad or sandwich the next day!

This is also a great recipe to prep in advance. I love to prep everything during the day before the kids get home from school. Once the chicken is ready, I just cover it with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until I’m ready to bake. You can do this 1 to 2 days ahead of time.

If you’re meal prepping, you can freeze for up to a 1 month! I’d recommend storing in an airtight zip top bag before freezing.
