Ingredients

  • Foam Cones (This 6-pack from Amazon is great, or you can get them from any craft store)
  • Toothpicks (about 50-100, depending on how many cones you’re making)
  • Pineapple (I used two. Be sure to save the top for the “trees.”)
  • Favorite fruit: I used a mixture of Strawberries and basil leaves for the tree. You can also green grapes or raspberries!)
  • Powdered sugar to sprinkle on top for “snow.”

Directions

  1. Pineapple Tree: Cut off the top leaves of a pineapple and place upside down on your food board. As a bonus, you can cut a slice of pineapple with a cookie cutter to make a star or snowflake shape. Secure to the top of the leaves using a toothpick.
  2. Strawberry Tree – Wrap a foam cone in Saran Wrap. Using toothpicks, attach strawberries to cover the cone (you can also use grapes!) Add pops of color with basil leaves, raspberries, cranberries, or pomegranates.
  3. Sprinkle trees with powdered sugar using a sprinkle duster container. I love this option that’s under $6!
  4. Surround food board with fresh fruit and/or dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel.

Perfect Presentation Platters

The nice thing about this Christmas Tree Food Board is that you can present this on pretty much any serving platter! Here are a few of my favorites:

Round Trays: For a round wooden serving platter, I’d recommend this round wooden Target tray, which I get so much use out of year-round! I love this White Reclaimed Wood Tray that I would totally recommend! You might also like this wooden Lazy Susan. I also love this cute board with a handy double-handle!

Additionally, I use this rectangular tray all the time. (Both at a great price!) Antique Farmhouse also has this beautiful set of three!

Party Trays: For a higher-end choice, I love my MacKenzie-Childs checkered party tray. If you’d prefer some glitz, you could also go with this Gold Metal Party Tray from Walmart for a smaller gathering.

Christmas Platters: If you’d like to use a holiday platter, I love this Nutcracker Serving Platter and this Gingerbread Man Plate from Kirklands, as well as this Christmas Mercantile Tray from the Pioneer Woman.

Kitchen Links: My adorable red Santa’s Bakery sign is from Etsy! The Gingerbread House and Gingerbread Man Platter are both from Pottery Barn. The Nutcracker Cookie Jar is from Mac-Kenzie-Childs (and makes a great gift!) My checkered rug is also MacKenzie-Childs. The Christmas Tree shaped cutting board is from Antique Farmhouse!

Can I Prep This Christmas Tree Fruit Board Ahead of Time?

Absolutely, you can do this 1-2 days ahead of time and store in the refrigerator. For the fruit surrounding the board, you can also wash and slice the fruit a few days ahead of time if stored in a Tupperware container in the refrigerator. I’d recommend waiting to add any basil leaves until close to serving time so they don’t wilt, as well as adding the powdered sugar close to serving.

Storing Leftovers

Store any fruit in Tupperware containers or Ziploc bags and refrigerate. Depending on the freshness of the fruit, they should last 2-3 days.

I just love this adorable fruit display for the holidays! It’s such a fun treat for both kids and adults. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, friends!
